Gingerbread, Gothic Revival, and Queen Anne are a few architectural
styles you'll see in Waxahachie. The 38th Annual Gingerbread Trail
celebrates this architecture on Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th,
10 AM to 6 PM. Tour our special selection of five private homes. Get
the inside scoop on restoration triumphs and local ghost lore. Visit
historically recognized buildings such as the newly restored Ellis
County Courthouse, the Ellis County Museum, Sims Library, Ellis County
Art Museum and view vintage automobiles parked around the downtown
square.

Under cool, towering oaks, enjoy colorful crafts and artwork from across
the state. Over 150 artists present creative gift ideas. There are fun
children's activities and plenty of refreshments to satisfy your

PAINT HISTORIC WAXAHACHIE!
The Ellis County Art Association
presents a premier art event unlike any other in the area. The event
is called a PAINT OUT competition. What happens at a Paint
Out? Beginning May 30th through June 3rd, as many as 50 professional
landscape artists set up their easels on the streets of
Waxahachie! Spectators are encouraged to watch and chat with artists
and learn about various styles and techniques. During the 5-day
painting period, artists must complete at least 2 paintings "on
location" in designated painting areas which includes Ellis County
Courthouse and downtown business district, Getzendaner Park and the 5
featured homes on the Gingerbread Trail home tour. Saturday, June
3rd, artists will gather in a designated location for a special 90
minute "Quick Draw" demonstration followed by a live auction. The
Exhibition and Sale of paintings produced during the 5-day Paint
Out is Saturday evening, June 3rd in the Chautauqua Auditorium at
Getzendaner Park. The sale will continue on Sunday, June 4th from
10am until 5pm. All proceeds from the Paint Out event will benefit
the Ellis County Art Museum.
